Sloth Sanctuary of Costa RicaThis Sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica was founded in 1992 and one of the first rescue center in the world. This rescue center became famous through Animal Planet’s Meet the sloth series.

The center shows care to injured, abandoned and orphaned sloths. Educational tours are offered where the public is educated on how man affects the future of the species.

Researchers in this sloth sanctuary have indicated that handling sloth by inexperienced and unfamiliar handlers can result in their premature death.

Santa Rosa National Park Sloth SanctuaryThe Santa Rosa National Park in the Guanacaste Province in Costa Rica is one of Costa Rica’s oldest national park that houses within its tropical trees different species of sloths.

Can you visit a Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica? Well, the answer to this question is of course!

  1. First, you must choose which sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica you wish to visit. Make sure to call them or contact them by email to make arrangements and any reservations that you may need.
  2. If you live in the US or another country, you may need to get your passport in order.
  3. It might be a good idea to contact the Costa Rican Embassy to make sure you don’t need a special Traveling Visa or some kind of permit.
  4. Contact your travel agent for flight, car and any hotel reservations that you might need.
  5. Travel to your favorite Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica. Make sure to take lots of sloth pictures. Send some our way. We would appreciate it very much.

According to Wikipedia – “The reserve has 15 authorized campsites distributed in 8 areas open for tourism; as well as 5 wilderness huts. Moreover, there are 19 park ranger stations (4 of them with information stands) and 21 neighborhood watch stations.”

The Palm Beach Zoo Sleepy Sloth Experience is a sloth sanctuary in Florida USA which honestly I wish I had known about this spot the last time I was in Florida, I would have loved to enjoy this Sleepy Sloth Experience. Now I wish there was a sloth sanctuary near me.

Sloth loving folks will definitely love the Palm Beach Zoo Sleepy Sloth Experience. With an extra admission fee of $35, visitors can have the opportunity of meeting a two-toed sloth named Wilbur, that belongs to Hoffman the zookeeper and even get a personalized classroom education. Guests also have the opportunity to take photos, learn and experience new sloth facts and if luckily in the mood get to pet the sloth.

However, as stated by the Oregonian, with just an entry fee of $600 will give anyone the opportunity to gain entry into the sloth sleepover program of the facility that allows only 16 people at once per night.

With just $100, you can also opt-in for a one-hour session with sloths and its handlers during the day. These outings naturally come with lots of rules as they are only meant for educational purposes. But as you and I know, sloths are worth it.
